Gift Giving: Establish an Endowment

If you are interested in supporting the American Indian Studies Center by establishing an endowment, by making an outright gift, of a gift through your estate plan, please contact Bea Richman, Director of Development, at (310) 825-8654 or brichman@support.ucla.edu.

Create a Named Scholarship Endowment Fund With gifts or pledges, a donor can establish a named endowment fund that will support Native American undergraduates student in perpetuity. Only a portion of the income earned by the fund is used for scholarships. The remaining portion is returned to principal to help the fund continue to grow and ultimately support more students each year.

Ways to Give
Gifts of Cash
An annual financial commitment to the Center can be made by check or credit card, payable to the UCLA Foundation and sent to Bea Richman, Director of Development, 1309 Murphy Hall, Los Angeles, CA  90095. You may also visit http://giving.ucla.edu/aisc to make an online contribution. Gifts of any amount will help enhance the programs and provide opportunities for the students and faculty of the American Indian Studies Center.

Gift of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities are tax deductible at their full market value. In most cases, appreciation in the value of the security benefits the University and is not taxable to the donor.

Real Estate
Real property, either in its entirety or in part, can be deeded to The UCLA Foundation to benefit the University. For residential properties, it is possible to arrange a sizable tax deduction by deeding a home to UCLA, while continuing to occupy the property for life.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Donors may transfer cash, securities, or real estate in trust to the University and receive income for themselves or another, for life. Donors may receive immediate tax benefits, and ultimately UCLA receives the trust property.

Wills and Bequests
Consider a bequest that would support the Center.  Bea Richman will be pleased to provide specific language or arrange a confidential consultation for this purpose.
